"Wie aus sicheren Quellen bekannt planen Polizei, Sparkasse und Stadt für morgen früh (Dienstag 29.06.2010) die Räumung des Autonomen Zentrums Köln (Wiersbergstr. 41).

Am Sonntagabend wurde bekannt das sich die Polizei auf die Räumung des Autonomen Zentrums in der Wiersbergstrasse Vorbereitet. Die ehemalige und lange leerstehende Kantine, wurde am 16.04.2010 besetetzt und dient seitdem als Zentrum für autonome Kunst, Kultur und Politik. Aufgrund angeblicher Sicherheitsmängel will die Sparkasse die Inhaberin des Gebäudes ist dieses nun räumen lassen.

Die Besetzer_Innen haben mehrfach mit Statiker_Innen, Elektriker_Innen und Architekt_Innen zusammen gearbeitet um die sichere Nutzung der Räume zu gewährleisten und haben dies auch in Gesprächen mit Sparkasse und Stadt dargelegt.

Das das Gebäude nun dennoch geräumt werden soll ist eine Kampfansage von Sparkasse und Politik und zeigt wieder einmal das man sich nicht auf die Politik verlassen kann sondern sein Leben selber in die Hand nehmen muss, wie es im Autonomen Zentrum Köln die letzten 73 Tage geschehen ist.

Wir wollen uns die Räumung nicht gefallen lassen, deshalb kommt alle vorbei und lasst uns gemeinsam für den Erhalt des AZ Köln Kämpfen. Das Besetzer_Innen Plenum

Repeated Neo-Nazi Attacks on the AZ (Autonomes Zentrum), Call for Action

On the night of the 31st of May, the AZ in the Vereinsstrasse in Aachen was again attacked by Neo-Nazis. Approxiamtely around 11pm pepperspray and another yet unknown substance was sprayed through the mail slot in the door while a meeting was going on. A bottle filled with an unknown substance was also pushed through the slot. The three attackers, which are affiliated with the local Neo-Nazi scene, were masked with ski goggles and bandanas. They were carrying weapons, including a telescope bat and a type of morning star.

On the night of the 3rd of June, another attack occured. While a number of people were gathering on the steps of the AZ, metal bullets were fired with a slingshot from a passing car. The bullets were aimed at people‘s heads, accepting the hazard of fatal injuries.

These are only a few of a series of attacks by fascists. Fatal consequences were willingly accepted by the attackers. Repeatedly fascist graphiti was spraypainted at the walls of the location, signed by the local militant Neo-Nazi gang „Kameradschaft Aachener Land“. Visitors were also repeatedly ambushed within the surrounding area of the AZ.

These attacks are the direct result of the strengthening of Neo-Nazi presence throughout the inner city of Aachen. Violent incidents have happened regularly to all people who do not fit in a fascist world view. Besides the AZ the party branch of „Die Linke“ (German Socialist Party) as well as the private homes of political opponents have been violently assaulted. These attacks are yet another proof for the extremely aggressive behaviour of Neo-Nazis in Aachen.

It is also a fact that the police and the city council have failed to tackle the problem. Instead of relying on the state, we are now forced to take action ourselves.

The AZ, the AK Antifa Aachen and the Autonome Antifa Aachen A³ calls for solidarity and to show resistance against these developments with a rally against violence and fascists tendencies. For an anti-fascist mobilisation and for independent culture!

Meeting place is the space in front of the AZ on June 18th 2010, 8 pm.

Aktuelles Projekt der Regionalgruppe Aachen: Schultoilettenbau in Ukunda
Unser Projektpartner ist die DARAD Montessori Academy, ein Ausbildungszentrum für 230 Kinder in einem Armenviertel. Die sanitären Einrichtungen bestehen aus vier Latrinen mit Sickergruben. Zur Versorgung der Schule mit Trinkwasser steht in unmittelbarer Nähe ein Brunnen, der aus einer grundwasserleitenden Bodenschicht in etwa 10m Tiefe gespeist wird. Somit besteht die Gefahr der Kontamination des Trinkwassers durch die versickernden Fäkalien. Ingenieure ohne Grenzen versucht dieses Problem einzudämmen, indem die vorhandenen Latrinen durch 12 Trenntoiletten ersetzt werden.  Ziel ist es, dass die menschlichen Ausscheidungen bereits beim Toilettengang getrennt sowie zur Hygienisierung und Umwandlung zu Dünger gespeichert werden.

Im Jahre 2008 erblickte Bädfisch das Licht der Bühne und bespielt seitdem kleinere Bars oder studentische Events in Aachen mit Liedern von SUBLIME, wobei es passieren kann, dass sich hin und wieder auch bekanntere Stücke anderer Bands in das Repertoire verirren, die Bädfisch nach eigenem Ermessen mit Ska-Elementen zu bereichert.

Die 10 Freunde der Kapelle#3 aus Köln haben sich auf die Fahnen geschrieben, der Aalglatt produzierten Musikwelt seit 2004 mit ihrer druckvollen Mischung aus Ska/Reggae/Rocksteady entgegen zu treten.

zusammen mit Comadre auf Tour, kommen auch aus Californien und spielen ultraschnellen und brutalen Trash-HC/Punk in Richtung Pulling Teeth, Spazz, Look Back and Laugh und Ceremony. Die Sängerin macht dabei keine Gefangenen. Eine wirklich krasse Liveband mit sehr hohem Abgehfaktor.

TRAINWRECK

aus Aachen/Bremen/Göttingen sind nun auch wieder nach über einem Jahr mit neuem Bassisten in Aachen. Zu hören gibts düstere und tiefgestimmte Gitarrenwände. Irgendwo zwischen His Hero is Gone, Envy, Converge und Coalesce, Ohrenstöpsel mitbringen!

MONSTERTONE

Monstertone was founded in January 2007 by Jeff van Dockum and Ron Debie when they found eachother through the internet.They both wanted to make some tunes with some influences from the seventies,but also with some modern stuff.
After they searched for a drummer for a couple of months they found Skip Paesschen,and it looked that he was the drummer they were looking for,Powerfull.But that was just one half of our rythmsection,so the search went on to find a bassplayer.We asked George de Ruiter who played bass in Jeff’s other band , because we had a gig suddenly coming up.The Gig went well and George decided to stay with us.
Next problem! . We still didn’t had a singer.The only one who could do the job in a short time was Jeff.So he decided to do the vocals for the time being.But after doing some shows and a good review of our demo in Aardschok july 2008,Jeff is still doing the vocals.Now its 2010 and we are ready to record again,not a new demo but a fulllenght cd.We will start to record in March 2010 and hopefully have the cd ready around The end of may.Looking for a label that will work with us will also be a priority,besides of course of the gigs we will be playing.Because that’s what matters the most
At the moment Monstertone is growing as a band,because of the gigs we played in the last months,the new ideas and the fun we all have making this music that we like so much.The songs we write are not the new big thing,We don’t need that.When you like bands as Led zep and Sabbath or (newer) bands like pantera or corrosion of conformity,you have to check us out live.We just want to get on your stage and rock the Hell out.

MIMAS

kurzfristig noch aufgesprungen. Ebendalls auf Big Scary Monster machen diese Herren aus Dänemark einem nichts vor, sonder machen poppigen und mathe-lastigen Post-Punk oder Indie, wie man es nennen möchte, und überaus gut. AMERICAN FOOTBAAL, CAPN JAZZ, THIS TOWN NEEDS GUNS aber auch WE WERE PROMISED JETPACKS könnte man als musikalische Referenzen heranziehen.

INTO IT. OVER IT

Evan Thomas Weiss kommt aus Chicago und macht eigentlich alleine Musik. Eckpfeiler sind PUNK, EMO, INDIE, POP, an sich sagt das nichts aus, wenn man dann noch zusätzlich sagt, dass er sowohl verstärkt als auch akkustisch spielt. Zudem werden ihm auf der EU-Tour seine Mitreisenden Grown Ups unter die Arme greifen und als Band ihn unterstützen.
